The 64th Annual Meeting of the Australian Mathematical Society will be hosted at the University of New England in Armidale, 8 – 11 December 2020. We wish to acknowledge the Anaiwan people, on whose land this meeting will take place. We pay our respects to their Elders, past and present.
Registration is through the usual system for AustMS meetings. Many of you will have an account on this system already. Click here to access the system.
All participants who register for the whole conference (as opposed to a single day registration) are able to attend the Women-in-Maths dinner on (TBA) and the conference banquet on (TBA) for no extra charge. Additional guest tickets to these events can be purchased as part of the registration process.
The conference runs Tue 8 to Fri 11 Dec.
Details of the WIMSIG lunch will be announced soon. This event celebrating women in mathematics is open to all and is included in the registration fee.
On Tues 8 Dec (6pm-8pm) there will be a welcome reception at The ‘Stro (see above map). It is included in the registration fee for all participants.

Students presenting at the conference are eligible for the prestigious BH Neumann prize for the best student talk.
Armidale is about half-way between Sydney and Brisbane. The University of New England campus is located roughly 4km north-west of the city centre.
Getting to Armidale
Armidale is on the New England Highway, which is the excellent inland route between Sydney and Brisbane. Driving time from Sydney or Brisbane is around 5.5 to 6.5 hours (depending on your route) and less than 3 hours from the coast. If you’re coming from the coast, enjoy one of Australia’s best drives across the Waterfall Way. Plan your trip at http://maps.google.com.
Armidale airport is roughly 7km from the city centre. Taxis are available to get to and from Armidale city.
QANTAS has several flights to and from Armidale each day. Budget for between $450 and $750 return from Sydney depending on availability and how early you book.
Regional Express provides three services a day from Sydney to Armidale, from as little as $104 one way.
Fly Corporate now flies 12 times per week between Brisbane and Armidale, from $149 one way.
Getting around Armidale — travel options to the campus
Armidale Cabs offers a taxi service throughout Armidale and Uralla. The phone number is 131 008. A fare from the airport to the CBD or to the University is approximately $25 (estimate only).
A bus service runs from Armidale town to the UNE campus at $2 per trip. View the timetable.
Major car hire companies operate in Armidale from Armidale airport or in town. You’ll need to pay for parking on the Armidale campus. Casual parking is $8 per day or $15 per week.
Google suggests it is a 55-minute walk from town to the campus along the creek path or nearby roads.
Accommodation is available in Armidale or on campus. The campus is approximately 4km from the city centre. There is a wide range of accommodation in Armidale to suit all budgets.
